‘Owzat!’ Skylab have been chosen as digital partner for Lancashire County Cricket Club.
With Lancashire hosting the third Ashes Test, the eyes of the sporting world will be on the newly named Emirates Old Trafford.
The Emirates Old Trafford ground is one of the most striking and impressive facilities in world cricket.
The summer of 2013 will be the start of a new era, with the opening of the restored and redeveloped Pavilion. The famous Pavilion encompasses everything that Emirates Old Trafford now represents, with the original façade from 149 years ago now framed by a modern, grand and cutting edge new facility.
The new Pavilion will accompany The Point, the Club’s thriving and already celebrated Conference and Events venue which was opened in 2010, the new Player & Media Centre, which on non-match days will be used for business and education purposes, and the Lodge hotel, which has been established since 1999.
With the historic Emirates Old Trafford now being such an attractive venue, it is a key priority for Lancashire Cricket Club (LCCC) to obtain an established a strong presence on the web.
Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive of Lancashire County Cricket Club, said: “Skylab’s passion, level of detail and enthusiasm in creating our new digital platform clearly shone through what was a competitive tendering process. We are delighted with their appointment and look forward to a close and productive working relationship during what is a crucial and exciting time at Emirates Old Trafford.”
Skylab will initially focus on creating a new website for the venue side of the business, to help celebrate the historic naming rights deal that sees the ground renamed to Emirates Old Trafford. When completed the new website will showcase the venue’s ability to generate revenue from non-matchday sales and deliver world class events for conferences, dinners, exhibitions, weddings, christmas parties, private parties, meetings & training.
The complete website will be launched later this year. In the meantime, a holding page is already live at http://www.emiratesoldtrafford.co.uk/ to support lead generation during this high profile event.
Nigel Collier, Managing Director, Skylab said: “It’s a privilege to be working with such a historic club. Skylab was selected due to our strong blend of innovation, creative and technical skills, married with our unashamedly commercial approach to helping clients generate new revenue online. The partnership with LCCC further underpins Skylab’s natural sector strength in digital strategy and sports marketing.”
As a result of this and other recent wins, Skylab is looking for developers to grow their technical team.
