Nielsen’s Q3 2011 survey indicates that people spend more time watching videos online than they do on watching TV. A fairly recent article on VentureBeat highlights the growth of video websites in the UK and Europe compared to their US counterparts.
The author makes a lot of insights into the structure of video content, suppliers and platforms that all make sense. From our point of view we see on-line video consumption and content creation rising drastically and this is part of the driving strength that grows our MediaTank platform.
Video is the easiest content for a person to consume and it’s also the most engaging. As cameras and smartphones get cheaper, the quality of the footage increases and the speed of the internet grows it becomes less costly to produce videos. The real question isn’t how will you produce video but more importantly what video do you need to be produce in order to reach your audience and achieve your goals.
