MoMA Unveils Interactive App: “Century Of The Child”

Skylab is hiring!

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York released a new interactive web app bringing to life Swedish design reformer Ellen Key’s “Century of the Child” book and theories.

The underlying concept behind the writing is that in the 20th century societies focal point would or should be on children of the world. Specifically “a new preoccupation with the rights, development, and well-being of children.”

MoMA’s website “tracks the confluence of modern design and modern childhood, presenting individual and collective visions for the material world of children, from utopian dreams for the citizens of the future to the dark realities of political conflict and exploitation.”

While the in-depth theories and concepts are interesting on their own MoMA has delivered an engaging website that makes it easy for anyone to enjoy. You can find a number of screenshots below for a sneak peek.
