The role is exciting, varied and constantly evolving. You will have the ability to shape our strategic offering in the market so we are always one step ahead of our competitors and most importantly, creating products and experiences that produce great impact for our clients.

The company is split into two divisions. One division is a specialist in web development and applications for sporting organisations across the globe. The other division specialises in Elite Sports Performance Analysis working with some of the biggest names in sport. Together, the two divisions are able to create bespoke software solutions as well as a host of other services.

Our clients include England Athletics, Swim England, World Lacrosse, the LTA to name but a few.

Job Specification

As our technical lead you will be expected to deliver:

• Innovation: market-leading innovation that our clients couldn’t get anywhere else.
• Market-leading technical strategy: Leading our clients, driving them to be the most advanced and effective companies in the territories in which they operate.
• Leadership: Working with the Skylab SMT and wider group to provide vision and leadership for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring innovation and ingenuity is delivered across the board.

Essential:

• 5+ years relevant experience within a technical focused role
• Expert understanding of digital, sport and technology
• Excellent commercial, communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex subjects simply
• Expert Excel user and great with Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to work with senior clients on key strategy projects and comfortable presenting to senior management
• Very efficient, producing significant output with minimal wasted effort
• Focused under pressure and can deliver to a tight deadline
• Ability to work autonomously
• Experience using data visualisation tools like Tableau and Google Data Studio
• Experience working with developers
• Ability to understand, interpret and make suggestions to improve code and solutions through code reviews and other meetings.
• Experience working with developers

Technology Stack

Required:
Experience in Agile Methodology
Excellent past history of PHP and the Laravel framework
Proven track record using ReactJS, VueJS and/or AngularJS
Strong all-round Javascript skills
Strong MySQL Experience
Strong experience with WordPress

Beneficial:
Good knowledge of AWS technologies
Keen interest in new technologies and an unquenchable thirst to learn more
Knowledge and proven usage of other PHP frameworks
Knowledge of Node and NPM
