Last month we had a team night testing out a few virtual reality experiences from Oculus Rift… and it was great fun!
The system includes sensors that detect rotational and positional tracking. This creates a 3D space, allowing you to use the Oculus Rift while sitting, standing, walking or even jumping around the same room.
The Oculus Rift has a Pentile OLED display with a 1080 × 1200 resolution per eye, a 90 Hz refresh rate and a 110° field of view. It has integrated headphones that provide 3D audio for a fully immersive effect.
We gathered the team together after work, set up our lounge and started testing out the various games.
Pizza, crisps and soft drinks were of course on the menu!
Some of the games we tried were:
Superhot VR
Robo Recall
Kingspray (Graffiti VR)
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
Lucky’s Tale
The Climb
….and more!
And now the more techy stuff, the specs of the computer we ran the games on:
Corsair CC-9011106-WW Carbide Series 270R
Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz
